We noticed the high demand for organically raised meat chickens at our farm market. In order to be within the rules of the Chicken Farmers of Ontario we needed to purchase their quota allotment. Our farm is one the few organic farms that has invested in purchasing quota so that we can legally sell to the many customers.
We grow all the grains for these chickens. Gary is able to make the rations for each phase of thier growth. The chickens have access to outdoors , grasses and greens.Our pasturing system has become a model for humanely raised chicken.
We will always have either fresh or frozen chickens all year. Most of our customers like to have a 4-5 lb chicken in the spring /summer season and then larger ones for the fall and winter.
